Fear & Phobias

A phobia is a fear related to certain objects or situations. When a phobia is so severe that it interferes with a person’s ability to function, a therapist or other mental health professional may be able to help them access and explore ways to overcome fear, anxiety, and other effects of the phobia so they can be less affected by fear as they move through life.

Dealing with a phobia every day can be challenging, especially if that phobia involves a necessary or essential part of life, such as going to work, connecting with others, making a phone call, or shopping.

CBT2 therapeutic approaches to phobia treatment involve slowly exposing a person to things they’re afraid of and addressing underlying beliefs that may be contributing to the phobia.

Anxiety & Depression

If you are experiencing depression or anxiety, it’s important to remember that there are effective treatments and services available to support you. Getting help earlier can reduce the impact on other aspects of your life and improve your recovery. CBT2 Depression and Anxiety service is a psychological therapy service for people whose symptoms meet the criteria for severe and enduring mood and stress-related disorders. This includes severe depression or anxiety. At assessment, you will have the opportunity to discuss your difficulties with us and consider how CBT2 might support you in your recovery. A care plan will be agreed including what treatment or intervention is being offered. We provide a variety of psychological treatments, which are delivered individually and in groups.

Anger Management

Anger management therapy is designed to help you see that anger and calmness are not black-or-white emotions. As with all emotions, there are varying degrees of anger: we can be mildly irritated or in a full-blown rage. People who have been experiencing anger for a long time may have lost the ability to see that there are different levels of anger, and CBT2 will help you readdress this imbalance and recognise the difference between, for example, irritation and fury.

We all want to achieve something in our lives. We all have goals that we set, yet oftentimes forget. But what does it take to really achieve anything? How can you go about accomplishing a goal that you've always wanted to accomplish? Well, in the past, if you've set some goals and you didn't follow through, there's a reason for that. There's a reason that we throw up our hands in silent resignation. There are no huge secrets to success in life. Succeeding with your goals takes the simple application of consistent action, adjusting your approach when necessary, and not giving up. However, at the outset, most of us set goals without thinking too much about them.
